Cooperative Food Business Showcase Event

  • ASU Wexford Science & Technology Building 850 North 5th Street Phoenix, AZ, 85004 United States (map)

We invite you to learn about the cooperative food business ideas developed by our program participants!

In this celebratory showcase event you will hear from 3 groups of entrepreneurs as they pitch their cooperative food businesses ideas.

The business groups include:

Harvest Market AZ: Harvest Market AZ exists to provide the Central Phoenix community with equitable access to convenient, locally sourced, and culturally inclusive foods. We are a mini-market that is neighborhood-responsive with an emphasis on accessibility to good, healthy, ready-to-eat food. We envision strengthening connections between community and local food, creating resiliency and food sovereignty for local neighborhoods in Arizona.

Fungi Frequency: We are a worker-owned production business that aims to provide access to affordable, nutrient-dense, and healing foods. Through our products and educational resources we aim to empower people with the knowledge and tools to grow their own food in a manner that is regenerative to the earth.

Sonoran Kitchen: As a solarpunk cafe, our mission is to create a sustainable community hub that provides equitable access to locally sourced, whole ingredient, plant-based, Y.U.M.M.Y. foods while promoting autonomy, mutual aid, and social services in Southwest and South Central Phoenix.

This event signifies culmination of the work that the program participants have completed in Thrives 10-week Sustainable Cooperative Food Business Program.

The program, developed by Thrive and offered in partnership with the City of Phoenix, is designed to offer entrepreneurial capacity building for entrepreneurs looking to create cooperative businesses with sustainability at the core of its operations.

The event will begin at 5:30 and conclude around 7:00 p.m. We will be providing vegan appetizers from The Coronado during the event.
